Everything was perfect from wait staff to the high quality entrees. New York steak was cooked perfectly, the garlic butter chicken was tasty and, yum, twice baked potato!
Are here for breakfast. Food was good, typical dine in but the ambiance was nice. Great service and wait time was not too long. Would come again
The food and service were amazing. Hidden gem in a huge city. Family owned and the vibe is very small town--friendly. Would return.
Been going to family dinners here for years. The last few times we have gone in 2025 the food has been exceptional. Love this place!
Old school steakhouse with comfy booths, attentive waitstaff & good food. Nothing fancy, just good. Steaks/ribs, twice baked potato are the go to order
What a pleasure to eat at Backwoods Inn. It happened to be their 56 year of business, and there is a reason they have survived this long. Great steaks, awesome twiced baked potato, and personalized service. Our server tonight was Sandy, what a sweetheart, funny, personable, and good at her job. Carol, who is an owner stopped at our table and was so friendly and welcoming that it was like visiting family. Please note that this is aged beef and will taste a little different flavor than the large chain steakhouses. I like the flavor and tenderness of the mesquite grilled bone in ribeye that I ordered. The staff was happy and responsive to water's, drinks, ect. This is a hidden gem and deserves more than a locals steakhouse. The prices are not as low as the large chains, but trust me.. you get what you pay for.
3/20/24 I had the pleasure of dining at here and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the perfectly cooked porterhouse steak I ordered. Every bite was bursting with flavor, cooked to perfection just as I like it. The twice baked potato was amazing! What truly set this dining experience apart was the impeccable service provided by Sandy, our server. She was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also went above and beyond to ensure that we had a memorable and enjoyable time. Her attentiveness and friendly demeanor made the evening even more delightful. Overall, I highly recommend Backwoods for anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience with delicious food and outstanding service. I will definitely be returning soon!

Love backwoods inn for an old school steakhouse vibe without any frills. It's nice to have a slightly casual option where an 18oz ribeye is under $50 and not $120. Plus they include one side with each entree so again, the value here is top notch. Don't you just hate going to a steakhouse where you pay $80 for a steak and still have to order $15 potatoes?! You don't have to do that here. I also love that the menu has great variety at all different price points; I can't wait to try the broasted chicken and beef ribs! Apparently they are super popular for their fried chicken! I can never stay away from the prime rib though because it's so good usually, so I have to commit to trying something different next time. I was sad after our most recent visit because the prime rib was way overdone; I asked for medium rare, I got a well done piece with zero pink. Other than that our meals are always outstanding. Clam chowder is the best and I love that each entree includes a cup of it (their cup is more like a bowl btw, another win!). The clam chowder has no bacon in it which is a plus for my husband who doesn't eat pork. My son loved their salad with ranch dressing. He mostly focused on the salad bc the dressing was so good to him! Service is outstanding and personal: love the servers here and they really try their best to make sure you have a good time. My only gripe is I wish they offered oysters!!! Other than that, this place is perfect. Can't wait to come back for our next date night! Five stars for food, value, and service!
